Aquamarine and diamond pendant by Christopher Stoner

Aquamarine and diamond pendant

An important birthday was the reason behind this gift.

I’d seen a similar design of pendant at Graff (London) using a blue diamond which I loved. The price was £3.2m. My client’s budget wouldn’t stretch that far.

I found a truly spectacular pear-shaped aquamarine in New York and convinced my client that this would make an ideal centre piece. The proportions, measurements and intensity of this gem were quite unique. Weighing in 2.65ct it was also a superb size to create an impressive piece of jewellery.

To off-set the blue, perfect D-colourless diamonds were set around the aquamarine. The round brilliant cut diamond weighed just under half a carat and the pear-shaped diamond weighed 0.82ct.

The pendant was individually crafted by hand in platinum. Set in the halo were 40 additional brilliant-cut diamonds. The piece took 6 weeks to create.

This jewellery creation is one I am particularly proud of. It highlights the exclusive specialist nature of my work.
