beautiful cushion-cut diamond engagement ring
With cushion-cut diamonds it is so important to get the measurements right. Get them wrong, by even just a smidgen and your cushion-cut can look like a round brilliant-cut instead.
As with many of the designs I create, this one was done without the prior knowledge of the intended recipient. The one person who was recruited into the inner circle of trust, however, was her mother.
He knew she wanted something classical. Something that would look delicate on her slender hand, but something robust enough to stand the test of time.
Her mother knew her daughter had always loved cushion-cut diamonds.
Between them, they gave me enough to get started.
After considering a number of different design ideas, including halos and split shoulders, this was the final design. A simple, yet elegant 4-claw setting on a half-set diamond band. All in platinum.
The proportions of the central diamond were crucial in getting the ring perfect. I took my time and eventually found a truly stunning 1.01ct, E, VS2, GIA certified diamond.
He cried. Her mother cried.
She said yes.
And she cried too.
The ring was perfect for her. It was what she had always dreamed of, apparently.
