Inheriting Dad's Wedding Ring

My client had inherited her father’s wedding ring and inspired by a yellow diamond ring she’d seen, came to see me to find out if she could have the wedding band created into a piece of jewellery she could wear every day.

These redesign projects are always special because they are so important. Every aspect of the redesign journey has to be respectful of the existing piece of jewellery and balance the inevitable sadness and emotion with the excitement of having a piece of jewellery remodelled or redesigned into something different.

We looked at a number of different design ideas, based around the initial yellow-diamond inspiration. It was important to my client that we used the wedding band as it was and not tinker too much with it. She wanted his band to form the band of her new ring and be constant reminder of her late father.

We sourced a pretty natural yellow diamond and added two princess cut diamond to form a new and beautiful three-stone diamond ring.

It is a ring my client can enjoy wearing forever and one day pass on to her own children.
